Curling OUA Championships

Summary:

After a strong showing at the Brock invitational in January, which saw the Excalibur Women’s curling team finish second, and the Excalibur Men finish fourth, the expectations are high leading into this week’s OUA Curling Championships hosted by Algoma. The OUA Championships which start Thursday and run through to the championship rounds Monday, will see Men’s and Women’s teams from fifteen different schools compete for the OUA Championship banner. Both Excalibur curling teams missed the podium last year, and come into the championships with high expectations, looking to build off the momentum earned from a strong showing in Brock. The full curling schedule and updated scores throughout the weekend will be available online as well as through social media.

The Trent Women’s fencing team will travel to Ottawa this weekend for the OUA Fencing Championships, hosted by Carlton University. The Trent Fencing hopefuls will look to bring home Trent’s first fencing championship in the final action of the season. The Trent Men’s and Women’s volleyball teams will play host to Nipissing and York over the weekend. On the men’s side, Nipissing comes into the contest having won their last game, while the second place York Lions will enter Sunday eager to get back into the win column after dropping their last match. On the Women’s side, Nipissing enters Saturday’s contest having won their last match, while the York Lions have lost their last 7.
