The Trent Excalibur Men’s and Women’s curling teams will travel to Sault St Marie for the OUA Championships on Thursday. After an impressive showing at the Brock Invitational in January which saw the Women’s team finish second overall, and the Men’s team place fourth, the Excalibur will have high expectations leading into the championships. The OUA championships will be hosted by Algoma University, and will see Men’s and Women’s teams from fifteen Ontario Universities compete for the OUA championship banner.

The Excalibur have historically had a rich history in curling, with the Men’s curling team winning the OUA banner in 2011. In 2017, both curling teams missed the podium despite strong play, and came into the season focused and looking to bring another banner to Trent University. After placing high at the Brock Invitational, the Trent curling teams will look to build off that momentum in the pursuit of another banner.

The Excalibur Women’s team will be led by 2nd year Skip Sarah Daviau, and is joined by 2nd year Vice Emma Landry, 3rd year Second Caitlyn Mabee, 3rd year Lead Makayla Mundy, and Alt Jordan Walter. The Excalibur Men’s team will be led by Skip Jason March, with Second Peter Giles, Vice Riley McMulkin, and Lead Cameryn Griffiths completing the team.
